9. The Voice's Nuance

Matt found Dylan Thomas' poem, "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night," presented by Dylan Thomas, Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins. It's a poem whose depth of meaning turns on repetition and it's the voice's nuance that gives the repetition meaning. In our view, Burton

as an accomplished actor achieved the oral nuance, conveying the passage of time over the phases of a man's life. We were both surprised Thomas' own presentation didn't seem to capture that sense as clearly. What do you think?
